Slaven Bukal as coach
I love the analytical work with expert team, commitment and perseverance in design, building winning mentality, the domination of the game, discipline in relationships, every day I try to convey the experience and knowledge that the players - professionals above all respect.
My coaching philosophy
Orientation is such that we are serious that my team plays well, and this implies the strength of the game; possession of the ball with a lot of changes girdles and thus take the initiative in the game; to create a lot of chances which provides an attractive game that, at the end of the audience respects. Added to this are not mere changes girdles but the game runs fast, vertically, and what with modern football demands is that the defensive control the game and during the game. To have played so important to find players who are able to maintain concentration during the ninety minutes of the game and who are mentally and physically strong. There concentration are training and during each exercise and during each workout.
My coaching style
I enjoy my work and I believe that the key to the quantity and quality of the course. I like to work a lot and hard with my coaching staff, to prepare the game properly, detail. Special attention is paid to the improvement of the individual characteristics of players, through a planned, professional and scientific work, and as a result the whole of the work, in the end, the players feel the progress, which to them in a psychological sense of pleasure practicing football.
The motive to become a coach
I was lucky that during my playing career, I look at the game analytically. Simply it's part of my personality, and it turned out that it was the key feature that helped me in choosing a profession. Observation of the game and finding solutions we have the passion that keeps me still today.Often to finding solutions of the game is seen through purely tactical, but in dealing with problems of players appearing in the domain techniques, fitness, relationships between players, the relationship of the requirement.
Attention in the work
I'm trying to build the winning mentality. Often by the term implies, and only a psychological stake in understanding the specifics of football. However, to build a winning mentality, it is necessary to improve in all areas. Mental processes are the product of feeling able to plan all aspects of preparation. So far in this paper I have not found a player who has a winning mentality without being superior in all areas. So the answer is, a winning mentality and character.
The greatest difficulty in managing teams
The starting point is that every team and different backgrounds. All teams are made up of individuals, with their habits and as a rule it is very difficult to take such a young people.Must to have sincere support of the owner of the club they need to cooperate closely. Almost the same effort and effort should be invested in this type of work as well as work with the players. When all these factors coincide success is almost guaranteed.
Offensive or defensive play, my commitment and tactics
This is something that all coaches in the world and the most engaged. This is the essence of the work. Offensive, defensive and change of possession. In work try to have a clear vision and to have a "clean" game plan on both offense and defense. But what apparently was the one part of the development of the game, is that the impact of coaching is always larger and incomparably easier to defensive part of the game. I think coaches limited technical characteristics force the exclusively defensive style of play. For the offensive, attacking game they need creative skills and players and coaches. My motto has always score a goal more, thus attacking football.
Does the system games (4:4:2, 4:1:3:2, ...) or the ability of players are crucial for designing a tactical game plan of team
Often the question is whether you should play the best players or the best work together. So the best players and the best play. Talent and everything else that can go together. That to me several times and confirmed, so I can freely say that this is the rule. You have to play the best players who can, but do not forget system. Any team or club must have your game. The game is reflected in the system, but even more in the way of the game.
The trend in tactics at the highest level
Coaches play a far more 4:2:3:1 and 4:3:3, trends largely depend on the winning team and other teams, they automatically copied to the winner. I think, and it was confirmed several times that it was not a winning option. Only the original real successful. Everything else is just an attempt, and nothing more.
Democratic or autocratic mode?
It depends on the team you manage or lead. I think that both are equally successful. The combination of these two methods is correct. But it is essential that special attention be given to relations with the players.
Football is a team game. How increase cohesiveness (association of individuals in a collective)
There are no rules for this, you have to explain your way of doing business, and the players need to understand what is most important for the team. Without this understanding and cooperation no results. But what is the prerequisite for the achievement of results. The result is one that helps to create a team spirit.
Stress in coaching
I'm trying to enjoy the time spent with family, friends, their hobbies and thus collect the energy that we needed for further work.
The organization of work in training (relationship with co-workers)
We have a meeting every morning, every day and follow a plan that we prepared at the beginning of the season, month and week. We try to remind each other to the initial target and work plan as circumstances change over time and the purposes and means of reaching this goal, mostly not. I am not an advocate of changing modes and the first indication of a change of incompetence work. What it is important that the analysis takes a huge amount of information, thanks to technological advances, so we have a feedback after each workout. Exactly one knows the role of each individual and each is responsible for its operation. When choosing associates are guided by personal criteria, as well as when selecting players. Communication, winning mentality, professionalism make one basic feature of which is the passion for football
Quality players
Quality, mean, winning mentality, superb professionalism with talent, where all players put their skills to the function of.
Adapting to the opposing team
If my team is strong enough, then not much. This assessment is done together, but the final decision rests with me. Then the maximum concentration in performing tasks that require our game. The clubs obligation gives us the tradition of the club, the fans ... But regardless, every team has to prepare for his tactical game plan and to adjust the details of an adversary. This adjustment is the pinnacle of creativity and coaching can be said of expertise. Just to reiterate, in adjusting to not neglect its own style of play, which is characteristic of the team.
Scouting the opponent team
Scouting is of utmost importance. In modern football is no longer the question of whether it is necessary or not. You need to have all information about the game opponents, that your players know the advantages and disadvantages of the other and the opposing team and to adapt these little things about which I spoke earlier, and are crucial for success.
Football Program Structure
While categorization is done on a general level, training loads of a football player can vary based on physical maturity and not on chronological age.
U9/U10
During these two years the aim is to develop game-related techniques with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment. The coach creates an appropriate learning environment to enable players to master the ball and to foster their natural development through playing small sided games. There is a small amount of unopposed technical practice and instruction as required, however the amount of tactical information is minimal in Year 1 and limited in Year 2. The players experience different activities, play many small sided games - 1 v 1, 2 v 2, 3 v 3, 4 v 4 - and experience playing in different positions including goalkeeping. By the end of the stage, the students have learnt how to act with the ball purposefully.
U11/U12
This is an important age range for acquiring a good technical foundation and to continue the development of game related techniques. The coach creates an appropriate learning environment to enable players to master the ball and move towards development via opposed situations while encouraging creativity. Possession practices are directional if possible to encourage awareness and receiving the ball to enable the player to play forwards. A host of tactical situations are introduced. The overall emphasis for the age group is to learn through playing small sided games.
U13/14
These age groups represent the first two years as full time student-athletes for the majority of the players. The aim is to continue to build on the work done in the feeder groups and to develop technical competency and ball mastery. There is emphasis on directional passing practices and developing 1 v 1 proficiency. The players will make the transition to playing 11 v 11 football and will need the basic tactical knowledge to enable them to perform within this different environment. Our goal is to develop players with the confidence to play with both feet.
U15/U16
As the players get older the emphasis is on developing tactical proficiency. The coach incorporates passing into sessions such as switching play; receiving into playing through the thirds or midfield players playing side on. At this stage, there is still an obvious need to work on technical development and morning sessions can be used for this work that is covered in isolation.
U17/U18
At this stage sessions are aimed more at individual players or small groups of players. These sessions develop strengths and improve weaknesses. The players spend more time analyzing their performance both individually and as a team and developing their decision making and their ability to perform effectively. The main focus changes to ensuring that players leave youth football as fully equipped as possible to play at a high level.
